I have been married to my best friend for almost 29 years. We have been blessed with three grown children and one wonderful son in law. I work as an artist. I mainly do abstract paintings and expressionist landscapes. One of my favorite times of worship is in my studio painting and singing along to worship music. I love how God inspires me with worship music and nature. Our family has had many trials over the past couple of years and I have had many health problems over the last few years. God has given me strength and comfort throughout my life. I am a weak child of God who seeks God's face daily through prayer and reading His Word. God is who gives me strength, direction and purpose in my life. I started this blog to share my journey in Gods word and to seek God daily with others. I hope to encourage others to live a full, abundant, joyful life in Christ!

Artist Statement

I have always been fascinated by and have a real appreciation for original art. I began my career years ago as an Interior Designer. I feel drawn to the art world and continually feel encouraged to paint. I paint and create not just to decorate environments but to inspire people. My goal has been attained when my paintings are displayed and people feel drawn to view them closer and appreciate the depth and rich textures they encompass. I am constantly looking for new ways to improve my work and minupulate the oil pigment. I propel myself to grow as an artist and envision what is next with my paintings. I not only want to inspire those who view and buy my work, but also myself. Sometimes I express myself with realistic paintings but most times it is through abstraction. However, my paintings are always organic and created in response to my feelings. I use oil pigment because it dries slowly and that allows me to blend the color and manipulate the oil with organic movement unitl it reveals satisying brush strokes, marks, rich texture and deep layers. My current work is more intuitive, bold and expressive. I use rich vibrant earth tones to capture my expressive style of painting. I have been focusing more on abstraction and enhancing my realistic paintings to reflect more energy and movement. I have been achieving this with large fluid brush work, energetic palette knife work, and larger canvas. This give my paintings a dynamic sense of movement and spontaneity. My paintings are currently being shown at Thistle Gallery in Douglas, Uptown Gallery in Holland, and City Art Gallery in Grand Rapids. Inspiration for Workmanship

I was inspired to do this painting while reading Romans 5:5 . While reflecting on these tough economic times and how distraught many of us are feeling I wanted to do a painting which people could identify and connect with. " Hope" was part of the series that was sold to benefit Hospice of Holland.
